Tales From Alissaquah
This week’s tales of the strange will transport you, dear listener, to the lush Eden of Alissa’s hometown of Issaquah, Washington. Nestled in the foothills of the Cascade Mountains, Issaquah and the surrounding wilds are teeming with life... and tales of death and mystery.
An exception is made to the Pacific North Western critereon to allow Britt to stun you with a mind-blowing update about our favorite not-so-imaginary friend Jada. After listening little doubt will be left in your mind that 3 year old Elise knows too much about a little girl who died years before her birth.
Once her Jada-induced goosebumps die down Alissa relays a couple of yarns about the run of the mill weirdness that occurs in her area. Just your everyday tales of serial killers, kidnappers and black panthers. She then shares the haunted history of the Reard-Freed Farmhouse in neighboring Sammamish, Washington.
Britt then goes classic PNW with some good old fashioned Big Foot sightings. She’s got Sasquatches by trains, Saquatches by creeks, Sasquatches by lakes, Sasquatches in gilly suits; Washington is silly with Sasquatch!
After lamenting the legend of Sasquatch in Native American folklore, Alissa turns her focus to a building where tales of such sighting are readily swapped over an icy cold pitcher of Ranier lager. She is, of course, referring to the structure with the oddest facade in all of downtown Issaquah, the near century old Rolling Log Tavern. She reports on a thorough paranormal investigation conducted in the bar which surmissed that there are no less than four ghosts inhabiting the old Lumberman haunt; some harmless, some prone to shrieking in your face if you get too near.
Regardless of where you live, you will no doubt be thrilled, chilled and horrified by these tales from the upper left corner of America.
As always thanks for listening, and haunt y’all later.
